Working with Schools

The surge in the demand for outdoor learning and a deeper connection to food and nature is truly remarkable. Drawing upon our expertise from past projects, coupled with glowing reviews and positive word-of-mouth endorsements, we are witnessing a significant increase in inquiries. Schools, both privately owned and council-run, from across Fife and the local area are recognizing the value we bring to this kind of educational experience. We are delighted to see the growing interest.

Carron Primary School

In 2022, we conducted weekly lessons for a total of 240 pupils at Carron Primary School, complemented by the provision of 500 seedlings for an engaging 5 raised bed project. Witnessing a remarkable transformation, the initial hesitancy among students to taste freshly picked vegetables nearly vanished during the second season. The diverse array of crops, including kohlrabi, lettuce, kale, chard, broad beans, and peas, contributed to this positive shift. Surprisingly, it was the teachers who expressed the most astonishment at the enthusiastic response from students, highlighting the powerful impact of hands-on learning in fostering a genuine appreciation for nature and healthy eating.

Rosyth Nurture Centre

Collaboratively constructed beds alongside dedicated carers and pre-school children, our team filled and adorned them with a vibrant array of plantings. This shared effort not only brought the community together but also laid the foundation for a flourishing garden that reflects the spirit of unity and growth.

Burntisland Primary school

We’ve successfully installed and filled seven raised beds, kicking off the 2023 season with a burst of colour and life. Throughout the entire season, approximately 150-200 children participated in half-hour lessons in our garden, making learning a hands-on and enjoyable experience. A recent survey revealed overwhelming popularity, with children expressing delight in planting, enjoying fresh tastes, and expanding their knowledge about plants. This positive feedback reinforces our commitment to fostering a love for gardening and nature-inspired education.

Donibristle Primary School

Seamlessly integrated seven raised beds, each brimming with nutrient-rich compost, and welcomed a rotating group of 200 enthusiastic children to their garden every week. This dynamic combination of infrastructure and engagement transforms the space into a lively hub of learning and growth.

Little Bugs Outdoor Nursery School

Established raised beds and crafted two polytunnels to enhance the outdoor learning experience at our nursery school. These additions serve as vibrant spaces where curiosity and education blossom amidst the beauty of nature.

Woodmill High
